Give a gift that counts

We are right in the midst of the holiday season. Many of us are busy making sure we don't miss getting gifts for everyone on our lists. Did you know that menstrual products are one of the most needed, yet least donated item to women's and homeless shelters around the country? It's hard for many of us to imagine, but women and girls in poverty often resort to using socks, newspaper, magazines or paper bags while on their periods. This isn't just unsanitary, but leaves them at risk for infection and disease. Our mission is to ensure women in impoverished communities have the menstrual supplies they need for clean and healthy cycles.

Three weeks ago, we kicked off our first fundraising campaign. And we've gained some good traction. To date we've had 28 unique donors and raised $756 across three platforms – that's enough to give 151 women all the supplies they need for a safe, clean menstrual cycle!

Not bad for a startup nonprofit in its infancy stages.

While these are some good numbers, we are a long way from our goal of $5,000.

If you haven't had the opportunity to make your gift, there's still time. Our giving campaign will go on through the end of the year. If you believe that no woman or girl should have to use socks or paper on her period, we're asking you to give a gift the counts. $5 is all it takes to ensure one woman has all the supplies she needs for a full menstrual cycle. $20 will cover four women. $100 takes care of 20. Your gift will have a direct impact on the quality of life of the women we serve. Together, we can empower the lives of women – PERIOD.
