18 ways to EMPOWER WOMEN in 2018


One of our most frequently asked questions is "how can I help?" We think this is an excellent question and to answer it, we've comprised a list of 18 ways you can support shē thing's vision of empowering women throughout the year of 2018.

1. DONATE

We think this one is pretty obvious. It's definitely the most common call to action you see on our communication. Your donations are what help establish and grow our programs and allow us to continue to operate. shē thing Inc. is a nonprofit corporation and any donation made to us may be eligible for tax deductions as defined by Internal Revenue Code (IRC) 170. It only takes $5 to ensure one woman has everything she needs for a clean, healthy menstrual cycle. Click here to donate now.

2. AMAZON WISH LIST

Every month we need menstrual supplies to distribute to the women we serve, but we also need things like boxes, tape, paper bags and staples. Our WishList on Amazon makes it easy for you to gift us the things we need to continue to move our mission forward. Click here to shop our WishList now.

3. SHOP AMAZON SMILE

This might be the simplest and most passive way to support shē thing's vision. AmazonSmile makes it convenient and easy for shoppers to give to shē thing. All you have to do is instead of shopping on Amazon.com, do your online shopping on smile.amazon.com instead! AmazonSmile has all of the same features and benefits. The only difference is a portion of your purchases will be donated to shē thing by the AmazonSmile Foundation. It really is that simple! 4. SEND US PRODUCTS

Do you have unused and unwanted pads and tampons sitting around your house? Did you pick up extra supplies on your last run to the store? Send them our way! We are always, ALWAYS in need of pads (especially the thick ones), tampons, panty liners and feminine wipes. Send your supplies to:

5. DROP OFF PRODUCTS

Are you in the Denver area? Stop by our donation center located at HBM Aesthetics and Massage anytime during normal business hours. HBM is located conveniently off of I-25 and Evans in Denver. Drop off your donations to:

6. HOST A DRIVE

Are you looking for a community service project for your youth group, workplace, club or school? Partner with us to host a feminine products drive! Every product collected during your drive will be used to fill our #whitebags and distributed to the women who need them most. Contact us to find out how to host a drive.

7. SPONSOR A PERIOD

Menstrual cycles occur every 21-35 days. Like clockwork. You can become a monthly donor to ensure women have everything they need for a healthy menstruation cycle every single month. It only costs $5 a month to sponsor one period. Click here to sponsor a period.

8. FOLLOW US ON SOCIAL MEDIA

You might be wondering how following us on social media helps support our vision of empowering women? While it may seem a bit self-serving to ask you to follow us on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn, it really isn't. In today's world of digital marketing and Internet capital, our social media numbers matter. Particularly, they matter when it comes to digitally savvy stakeholders and investors. It's also a great way to stay on top of the latest and greatest happenings at shē thing. So, if you're not already, join us on social media and help move our mission forward!

9. SHARE OUR POSTS

We take a three-pronged approach to fulfilling our vision of empowering women. One, we educate through our website, blog and social media. Two, we organize outreach programs to help the women we serve. Three, we are advocates for those women and you can be too! Sharing our social media posts amplifies our message, our mission and our work. It demonstrates our partnership and collective responsibility to end period poverty. All of our social media platforms have a different flavor. But whether you follow us on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn, share our posts and become an advocate for women and women's rights PERIOD.

10. ENGAGE WITH OUR POSTS

Just like sharing our posts on social media, engaging with them demonstrates our partnership and our collective responsibility to end period poverty. Commenting and/or liking our posts are two ways you can engage with our posts on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn.

11. SUBSCRIBE TO OUR NEWSLETTER

Right along with following us on our social media accounts, subscribing to our newsletter is another great way to stay up to date on the latest and greatest happenings at shē thing. At least one a week, our newsletter is delivered right to your inbox. Our blog is going to be your number one source for all things shē thing.

13. SHARE OUR BLOG POSTS

By now, you're probably noticing a pattern. Sharing is caring and it helps bring awareness to our work and our mission. The more people that know what we're up to, the more people we can help. There is no way we can do this work alone. We are grateful for partners like you to help share our content and move our mission forward.

14. START A CHAPTER

Are you passionate about empowering women in impoverished and developing communities? Do you want the nonprofit work you do to make an immediate impact on the quality of life of women? If you answered 'yes' to either of these questions, we invite you to start a chapter at your school or in your community. Starting a chapter is easy! Contact us to find out how.

15. USE OUR FACEBOOK FRAME

Toward the end of last year we announced our first series of Facebook frames. Our frames are a simple way to show your support for our work and add a little flair to your profile picture on Facebook. shē thing frames can be permanently added to your profile picture or scheduled to display on your photo for a specified time period. 16. START A FACEBOOK FUNDRAISER

No longer do we have to be the initiators and organizers of fundraisers. Facebook has made it easy for its users to create fundraisers on shē thing's behalf. It's set up similar to crowdfunding and can be a creative way to get your Facebook friends excited about a cause you care about. Set your goal for as little or as much as you want! 17. VOLUNTEER

If you live in Denver or surrounding areas, you can volunteer your time to help sort products, pack #whitebags or distribute period kits. Contact us to find out how you can volunteer at shē thing.

18. TELL A FRIEND

We cannot fulfill our mission and strive for our vision without you and nor would we want to! Your partnership and interest in the work we do means the world to us.
