shē thing to provide 1,500 pads to The Gathering Place in Denver
It is with much anticipation and excitement that we announce our very first partner organization in Denver: The Gathering Place (TGP). TGP is Denver's only daytime drop-in center for women, their children, and transgender individuals experiencing poverty or homelessness.
Beginning October 2017, shē thing will be providing menstrual pads on a monthly basis for members at TGP. On average, TGP distributes 50 pads a day to its members, and while the facility receives ample amounts of tampon donations, the pantry is in dire need of pads. shē thing will work closely with the staff at TGP to ensure there are enough menstrual pads to distribute to it's members for an entire month.
But that's not all! We will also be kicking off the educational component of our mission at TGP. Starting in January 2018, shē thing will be leading quarterly menstruation education sessions for TGP members. These sessions will cover everything from the importance of menstrual health to how to properly (and safely) use pads and tampons.
